Dining at the Inn

 

The Black Cock Inn has long had a fine reputation for the variety and quality of the food it serves. David had been keen to build on this and provides a mouth-watering array of dishes from the traditional Lakeland favourites of local Cumberland sausage and lamb shank, through classic British fish and chips to tender chicken breast stuffed with avocado and cream cheese, and wild mushroom risotto.  There are always vegetarian dishes on the menu and a good choice of desserts.  All the dishes are specially prepared by the team of chefs using the best ingredients, locally sourced where possible.

An interesting selection of traditional Indian and Thai dishes add a taste of the exotic to the menu. From mild chicken tikka masala to deliciously hot beef Madras or the harmony and contrast of Thai recipes, there’s something to tickle everybody’s taste buds.

On the lighter side there is a full range of filled baguettes, baked potatoes and Yorkshire puddings available at lunchtimes, along with the chef’s homemade pies.

Food is served in the bar area or separate dining rooms and although there is plenty of room for diners, it is wise to book for popular times and at weekends.

Children are welcome in the dining areas.
