A warm welcome awaits at

The Black Cock Inn

The 16th Century Black Cock Inn stands at the heart of the attractive little town of Broughton-in-Furness, within easy reach of some of the Lake District's finest scenery. This much-loved village inn is full of history, charm and atmosphere.

The lounge bar, with roaring log fires and low beamed ceiling, has a wonderful traditional ambience and recent changes including a new extension have been planned carefully to retain all the period appeal. Helen Woods & Richard Walker have brought new ideas and vigour to the old inn, and the chef puts his own particular stamp on a menu of Old English Fayre.

There’s always a selection of real ales and lagers on offer in the bar which is open from morning ‘til night, every day.

There’s a superb range of food available from traditional Lakeland favourites to international  dishes. Meals are served 12-2pm and 5-9pm Monday to Saturday and 12-9pm Sunday.

The inn has five comfortable and very well-appointed en suite guest bedrooms, including two in the new extension.

There is excellent walking country hereabouts, with plenty of history and natural features to discover, and Broughton itself is well worth taking time to explore.

Helen, Richard and the team look forward to welcoming you to Broughton-in-Furness and the Black Cock Inn
